Making Room

I thought I would share some meditations from my book this week. I have been completing the exercises in the book over the past couple of months, and they are truly transforming my life. Below is the meditation, "Making room." I share this because I have been working on releasing the old, especially my old stories, and making room for God and new life.

I am not my body, I am not my story.
I am not my body, I am not my story.

I am not my body. I am not the accumulation of my stories.
I am not my body, I am not my story.

I live in the now. Now is all I have.
I empty myself this morning and leave it all behind.
I come empty to the table.

I am not my body. I am empty.
I am not my story. I am empty.

Fill me up. I am in this moment only.
Take over the pure part of me that is never touched.
Fill me with you.

I am not my body or my story.

I empty my mind of all thoughts, all conversations.
I totally let Spirit in and fill me up.
I empty out me.

I am not my stories or the events of my life.
My stories are not the real me.
I am not my body. I am so much more.

I am empty - fill my cup.

  1. God made us useful, and we don't even know it.
If I support my family, I'm a provider
    If I kiss a child's hurt finger, I'm a healer
    If I dry another's tear, I'm a comforter
If I reach a hand to the fallen, I'm a restorer
    If I give directions, I'm a guide
If I work in harmony, I'm a peacemaker
If I hearten the despondent, I'm an encourager
If I aid the needy, I'm a benefactor
    If I keep secrets, I'm a confidant
If I live a sermon, I'm an example
